FAQ

Where will my session take place?

I love to bring the personality of my couples into the photographs! Let’s get together and brainstorm a location that fits into your story. Where did you meet? Where was your first date? What fun things do you do together as a couple? Let’s tell your story in a unique was with beautiful, artistic imagery.

How long will my session last?

Portrait sessions usually last between 90-120 minutes. Sessions are all continuous coverage with no breaks in between.

What should I wear for my session?

For portrait sessions I usually recommend at least 2 outfits. One should be more formal while the second is more casual. This will ensure a good variety in your images! Please avoid clothing that is white or has a lot of white in it. Remember, bright and vivid colors will produce images that are much more pleasing to the eye. Keep it simple. Clothing that has a lot of patterns can be distracting and unflattering in photos.

How long will it take to receive my images?

Turnaround time on portrait sessions is 7-10 days from the shoot date. Wedding clients can expect their images within 4-6 weeks of the event date.

What time of day do you book sessions?

The best time of day to have a photo session outdoors will be in the morning before noon or in the evening about 2 hours prior to sunset. I avoid afternoon sessions at all costs unless they are indoors. The afternoon sun is NOT friendly for photos at all!

How can I find out your availability?

Send me an email! I would love to hear from you! Even if my calendar is already booked I am sure we can get you taken care of with one of my associate photographers via the sub-brand Two Hearts.

What happens if I have to cancel my session last minute?

Sometime there are unforeseen circumstances that require us to reschedule your session such as weather. We all know the weather here in Houston can be unpredictable. There is no penalty for these rescheduling needs. However, for any other last minute cancellation there will be re-booking fees applied. I love what I do and when I set aside valuable time for a session with a client I am reserving that for them only which means other clients have to wait. Cancelling on your session at the last minute has taken away from the opportunity to provide excellent service to other clients which is why a re-booking fee WILL be applied. ALL deposits and session fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Do you shoot Destination Weddings?

YES! I LOVE to travel and have shot several destination weddings around the globe. It’s really not as expensive as you think to bring your photographer along! Ask about my special destination wedding rates!

Do you offer other types of photography besides weddings?

YES! I offer everything from weddings to senior to boudoir to family/children/newborn and headshots. Anything you need captured, I have covered! Click here to see our Lifestyle page on Facebook.

Do you save my images? What if I lose my images?

Yes! I save every clients session for up to one year after the event. Sometimes I hang on to them for longer than that but it depends on the amount of weddings/other sessions that I took on that year. If you lose your images there is a $75 archive fee for me to relocate and send you the images digitally. If you have lost the images more than a year after your date I may or may not have them in the archive. When you receive your discs please MAKE copies! Jessi Marri Photography is not responsible for holding on to your images for more than one year after the event date.
